This year’s D9 Conference in California saw Microsoft unveil and demonstrate the next generation of Windows for the very first time. Known as Windows 8, this highly anticipated operating system is set to launch in the spring of 2012… and we can’t wait!
The most significant change is the introduction of the fast and fluid Metro Style interface and a huge variety of new apps.
The Windows Start menu will be replaced by a scalable full screen, customizable tile-based app menu which will allow for fluid and natural switching between running apps. Multitasking will be a breeze with the new snap and resize feature allowing you to move apps to the side of your screen whilst working on other tasks. There are also other exciting new features like live tile notifications showing you up-to-date app info and fully touch-optimized browsing.
From the chip to the interface, Windows 8 really is the reimaging of Windows and will allow you to turn your PC into a whole new device - with or without a keyboard and mouse!
